The FG just increased the purchasing power or intrinsic worth of this note astronomically (I recall we said it here that Naira would become very scarce and a few folks brushed it aside). Read it here.

- 1 old N500 note may soon be = the old N200 note (black market swap/exchange)

- POS operators will need bigger bags for their operations.

- The days of Ghana-Must-Go bags are back. The only difference this time around, though, is that a full bag of N200 notes = a few hundred thousand Dollars

- It will be a nightmare for filling stations, supermarkets, & cash-heavy businesses (especially those that have been rejecting POS/transfer transactions or having constant network issues).

- Market traders will need pouches. Big ones.

- There will be a temporary respite for commuters who use cabs, kekes, and buses. It’s been a rough Feb so far.

- Politicians & their cronies may just already be wiping out and sweeping these notes. Soon, it will become very scarce, too.

And as for the 2023 General Elections, the jury is still out on how the President’s chess moves today will impact those elections…
